Salary: $300k to 400k total comp 


Overview

Our Central NJ client is seeking an Executive Director of Finance to lead the finance function and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. This role offers the chance to shape strategy, elevate performance, and drive measurable business results. Qualified candidates will bring 10–20 years of experience, including 8+ years in progressive finance leadership roles, executive presence to influence at the highest level, and strong treasury, cash management, and operational expertise.

 

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of financial planning which encompasses forecasts, annual budget and long-term planning
  • Incorporate drivers, market scenarios, operational impacts in developing best practices with forecasting strategies
  • Lead business partnering across all departments and with executive management team in evaluating business performance and related risks
  • Perform modeling and due diligence for M&A and other transactions.
  • Provide critical oversight to all financial management reporting to ensure accuracy and to leverage data in decision making
  • Ensure systems provide data integrity and offer reporting on key drivers of the business
  • Partner with the field to capture team operational impact on forecasts and performance analysis as it relates to their sectors
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting on cash flow, financial statements, and liquidity for corporate and project level objectives
  • Support the CFO in preparing necessary analysis and related reports to present to the Board, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a small finance team
  • Drive accountability with a focus on analytics and continual process improvement
  • Serve as FPA liaison with external stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA preferred.
  • 8 - 20 years of exemplary FP&A experience.
  • 5+ years leading and developing a team
  • Experience with project finance and M&A preferred
  • Proven leadership of enterprise-wide budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical judgment.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Expert Excel proficiency; Python or similar tools strongly preferred
  • Strong data management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively on complex topics with executive-level stakeholders
  • Track record of influencing and challenging leaderships conclusions as needed
