Job Title: Director of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

Job Overview:

As the Director of the NICU, you will lead efforts to establish a strong clinical identity, ensuring the implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and improve clinical outcomes. You will be responsible for managing clinical standards, driving efficiency, and ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.

This role emphasizes accountability, transparency, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will oversee nursing practices and unit operations, while ensuring policies, procedures, and standards are developed and maintained to meet patient and family needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Develop and implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality of care. Maintain adherence to care standards and monitor clinical variation to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Compliance & Regulation: Stay updated on internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance by developing and implementing policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Care Coordination: Oversee patient throughput, volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning to ensure timely, high-quality care. Implement care coordination policies that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote communication and collaboration across departments, ensuring appropriate clinical competencies among staff to meet patient care needs.
  • Nursing Oversight: Direct nursing practice and unit operations, ensuring that patient and family care needs are consistently assessed, met, and evaluated. Foster a culture of accountability in all nursing operations.
  • Patient Experience: Lead initiatives to provide an unparalleled patient experience by fostering a culture of excellence in patient care and service.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • Licensure:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice (required)
  • BLS Certification (required)
  • ACLS Certification (preferred)
  • L&D: NRP/FHM/RNC-OB Certifications (preferred)
  • Experience:
  • 1+ year of experience in healthcare (required)
  • 1+ year of experience in a leadership role (required)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $115,000 - $173,000 (USD)
