Position Summary
A healthcare facility in Wyoming is seeking a skilled and compassionate MRI Technologist to join its medical imaging team. The technologist will perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. The role requires expertise in MRI technology, ensuring high-quality imaging, and providing excellent patient care. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
MRI Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform MRI scans of the brain, spine, joints, and other body areas as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and addressing concerns.
- Administer contrast agents per protocols under physician supervision.
- Ensure that images meet diagnostic standards and are reviewed for quality.
- Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all MRI safety protocols, including screening patients for implants or devices that may interfere with scans.
- Maintain a clean and organized MRI suite.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Equipment Maintenance & Documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot MRI imaging equipment as needed.
- Maintain detailed patient records, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with advancements in MRI technology and best practices.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated in MRI imaging techniques.
Required Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) or eligibility to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.

State licensure as required by local regulations.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional MRI imaging certifications preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least 1 year of specialized experience in MRI imaging.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of MRI equipment, imaging techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
- Ability to operate complex MRI machines and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess image quality for diagnostic purposes.
- Excellent patient care skills, including the ability to explain procedures and reassure patients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical, Mental Demands & Working Environment
- Physical Requirements:
- Heavy work – exerting up to 25 lbs of force constantly, 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Possible magnetic field exposure and frequent contact with contaminated needles and infectious substances.
- Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (8 and 12 hours).
