Leave & ADA Administrator / HRIS Specialist

About the role

We’re leading a search for a leading autism service organization seeking a hands-on HR professional who can split time evenly between (1) Leave & ADA administration and (2) HRIS specialist work. You’ll be the go-to partner for FMLA/ADA/PWFA and state leave compliance and the point person for HRIS data integrity, troubleshooting, and light configuration/testing. Discretion, accuracy, and service-first communication are essential.

What you’ll do (50% Leave & ADA)

  • Guide employees and leaders through FMLA, ADA (including interactive process), PWFA, and state/local leaves from request to return-to-work.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators, request/track certifications, and ensure timely, accurate documentation and pay coordination with Payroll.
  • Maintain compliant records and metrics; recommend policy updates as regulations evolve.
  • Preserve strict confidentiality of medical information and all case files.

What you’ll do (50% HRIS)

  • Own core HR data administration (new hires, transfers, personal data changes) and drive clean, accurate records across HRIS modules.
  • Triage and resolve HRIS tickets; escalate to the vendor when needed.
  • Support releases: UAT testing, light configuration, and communicating changes to users.
  • Build/maintain routine HR reports and dashboards for HR leadership.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; 2+ years in HR with hands-on leave administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and state leave laws; comfortable running the interactive process with managers.
  • Practical HRIS experience (data management, user support, basic testing); strong Excel/Office skills.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and detail orientation; able to pivot smoothly between case work and HRIS tasks.
  • Nice to have: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP; formal leave administration training/certification.

Why this role

  • Visible impact across compliance and systems in a mission-driven healthcare environment.
  • Collaborative HR Operations team with opportunities to improve process and tooling.
  • Competitive pay, benefits, PTO, and 401(k).
