Paraprofessional – Support Special Education Students
Location: Muhlenberg School District – Various Schools
Job Type: Full-Time | Support Staff (Non-Exempt)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, School Hours

What You’ll Do
- Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to provide academic support.
- Help students stay engaged by assisting with assignments, organization, and focus.
- Encourage independence and reinforce social skills.
- Modify activities and assignments to fit student needs.
- Supervise and support students in classrooms, lunch, recess, and field trips.
- Monitor student progress and assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist teachers with clerical tasks, classroom prep, and materials.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Associate’s degree, at least 48 college credits, or a high school diploma with a passing local assessment test.

Experience: Prior experience working with children is a plus but not required.
- Certifications (or willingness to obtain):
- First Aid & CPR (within 60 days of hire)
- PDE State-Approved Crisis Intervention Restraint Training (annually)
- 20+ hours of ongoing paraprofessional training each year

Must pass required background checks & clearances: PA State Police Criminal History, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, and more (as required by PA law).
