Role Overview:
The Accounting Associate plays a critical role in advanced bookkeeping, reconciliations, G/L account analysis, and special projects aimed at developing innovative client service strategies. Your work will directly impact client satisfaction and efficiency within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
ACCCOUNTING
- Prepare detailed workpapers, analysis, memos, and other documenta on to support conclusions
- Ensuring that work is error free and ready for the technical review
- Preparing business tax returns (less than 10 per year)
- Preparing loan amortization schedules, prepaid schedules, and others
- Updating and maintaining depreciation schedules
- Analyzing a complex reconciliation issues
- Preparing adjusting journal entries
- Identify problems and work closely with clients to adjust their trial balance
- Month end closings for our outsourced accounting clients
- Reviewing work of data entry team members or stepping in when necessary
- Researching accounting or tax topics and documenting findings
- Assisting other team members as needed
PAYROLL
- Setting up leave, benefits and deductions with correct taxability
- Onboarding new client employees in the payroll system
- Processing payroll using an online payroll service
- Recording after-the-fact payroll entries, taxes, and benefits
- Reconciling payroll expense, leave, retirement and other payroll related problems
- Troubleshooting tax registration and liability issues
CONSULTING
- Providing accounting and consulting advice to small business clients
- Troubleshoot, train and advise clients using QuickBooks, PROCAS, or other systems
- Researching and responding to client questions regarding Federal Acquisition Regulations.
CLIENT SERVICE
- Developing an understanding and knowledge of the firm’s client service approach, professional requirements, and lines of business
- Developing an understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations and government contract accounting
- Maintaining accurate records and descriptions of work performed for projects
- Writing blogs and submiting editorials for social media posting
This position is FULL-TIME| W-2 Employee | Monday - Friday |40 hours per week.
Flexible between 7 AM - 6 PM EST.
$57,000 - $62,000 per year

Critical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 15 credits in accounting.
- 3+ years of relevant experience performing accounting, bookkeeping, payroll processing.
- Expertise in Business Accounting Systems: Proficiency in systems like PROCAS highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Must be able to leverage Excel for complex analyses and financial modeling.
- Proven Remote Working Skills: Must have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain productivity in a fully remote setting.
