Site Reliability Engineer (Node.js)
Remote (UK) | £50k + benefits
We're on the lookout for a Site Reliability Engineer with strong Node.js experience to help us keep things fast, reliable and (mostly) calm.
This isn’t a feature-building role. You’ll be diving deep into the backend, making systems stronger, spotting problems before they become problems, and helping delivery teams see exactly how their stuff performs in the real world.
You’ll spend your time debugging, automating, monitoring, and keeping everything running smoothly on AWS — and when something breaks, you'll be one of the calmest people in the room.
What you’ll be doing:
- Debugging and tuning Node.js apps like a pro
- Making AWS environments safer, faster, and more scalable
- Improving tooling and monitoring for apps running in containers (ECS/Docker)
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Supporting incident response
What you’ve probably done before:
- Supported web-based microservices in production
- Worked with MongoDB, AWS, and cloud deployment tools (e.g. CloudFormation, CodeBuild)
- Used monitoring tools like Prometheus, New Relic, DataDog, or Grafana
- Written scripts in Python or JavaScript to automate your life
- Understood incident response, post-mortems, and how to make things better next time
- Debugged Node.js applications
Bonus points if you’ve worked with:
- REST, GraphQL, async messaging
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git
- Core SRE concepts like error budgets, fault tolerance
- Security, privacy, and compliance (GDPR, etc.)
What You’ll Get:
- 💰 Competitive salary
- 🕒 Flexible working hours
- 🎂 Birthday off
- ☀️ 4-Day Summer Weeks (8 weeks/year)
- 🩺 Health cash plan
- 🌴 Unlimited holiday
- 🌍 Work from anywhere (4 weeks/year)
Sound like your kind of role?
If you like fixing things before they break, automating the hell out of manual work, and being part of a supportive, switched-on team — we’d love to hear from you.
