Head of Digital Engineering

Numi is hiring a Head of Digital Engineering on behalf of a global brand based in Manchester.

This is a newly elevated leadership role with a real mandate. You'll own the engineering team behind consumer-facing web, mobile and e-commerce products, reporting into senior technology leadership and shaping how the business builds for its customers.

The team

A focused, senior-heavy group of around 10: a Principal Engineer, two Engineering Leads each owning a squad, and four engineers.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and develop the engineering team across multiple levels, owning hiring, performance and career growth
• Set technical direction balanced with commercial reality
• Own delivery of consumer-facing web, mobile and e-commerce products
• Partner with product, commercial and operations stakeholders
• Make engineering decisions that are commercially grounded, not just technically elegant

What we're looking for

• Engineering leadership experience in e-commerce or retail, with a track record of delivering consumer-facing products at scale
• Proven people manager comfortable leading a structured, senior-heavy team
• Strong commercial acumen alongside technical credibility
• Retailer background preferred, food retail not required
• UK right to work
