Head of Product, Growth - Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) London | Hybrid (Mon/Wed/Thu in office) | 9-12 months

The Role
You'll lead the full Growth product function while the permanent Head of Product is on maternity leave. Reporting to the Senior Product Director, you'll own the roadmap across acquisition, trial conversion, and subscriber retention - and lead three PMs (Acquisition, Retention, Growth Tooling). This is not a caretaker role. It carries real weight, real visibility, and real commercial accountability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the Growth function across acquisition, conversion, and retention
- Managing and developing three PMs - raising the bar on commercial thinking, discovery quality, and prioritisation
- Owning the Growth roadmap alongside the Senior Product Director
- Driving a rigorous experimentation culture - Statsig, properly sized tests, honest read-outs
- Representing Growth product at senior leadership level
What They're Looking For
Essential:

D2C or Subscription Expertise: Proven experience leading product in a D2C or subscription business with clear ownership of conversion, retention, or LTV metrics. (Pure B2B backgrounds will not be considered.)

Hitting the Ground Running: Given the FTC context, you need to absorb context fast, earn trust quickly, and be raising the bar within weeks

Commercial Sharpness: You think in P&L terms, not just product metrics

Experimentation: You've run A/B tests, interpreted results correctly - including null results - and built experimentation culture in a team

People Leadership: 2–3+ years developing PMs, making them measurably better

Available quickly and able to commit to the full contract term
Nice to Have:
- Statsig, Looker, or Snowflake experience
- Subscription mechanics - trial dynamics, churn modelling, LTV optimisation
- International market experience (Netherlands, Slovakia, Denmark, Sweden)
This role isn't right for someone who:
- Wants a transformation mandate or blank sheet of paper
- Needs a long ramp before contributing at full pace
- Isn't comfortable being held directly accountable for commercial outcomes
