About the Opportunity

Our client is an innovative technology company building next-generation artificial intelligence systems for real-world environments. They are pioneering solutions within the Recognition Economy, transforming physical access, mobility, and reservations into seamless, intelligent experiences across high-volume venues, transport hubs, retail, and hospitality.

They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their core application development team to help drive their next phase of global growth. In this role, you will design and build scalable systems and features from the ground up, play a major role in defining product direction, and mentor other engineers.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain the backend services powering a core pre-book and e-commerce mobility platform.
• Participate across the full development lifecycle, from initial ideation and technical architecture to deployment.
• Lead technical discussions, evaluate emerging technologies, and ensure the e-commerce architecture continuously evolves.
• Apply industry best practices in test automation, TDD/BDD, and CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable feature deployment.
• Foster an engineering culture where production issues are treated as constructive learning opportunities.
• Ensure distributed systems remain highly available, secure, and capable of handling high-volume consumer traffic across global transport and venue hubs.
• Collaborate directly with global partners to design and deploy seamless API integrations connecting third-party products to the platform.

What We're Looking For

• Education / Experience: MS or BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) with strong fundamentals.
• Core Engineering: 7+ years of software engineering experience with advanced-level proficiency in Scala, Java, or related JVM languages.
• System Architecture: Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and microservices for high-volume, consumer-facing applications.
• Design Paradigms: Robust experience with event-driven architectures and modern software design patterns.
• DevOps & Agile: Deep understanding of Agile methodology, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build/test/deploy workflows.
• Databases: Hands-on expertise with relational databases, specifically MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Tech Stack Exposure: Familiarity or hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Snowflake, AWS, Git, GitHub, AI coding assistants, and Datadog.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Prior background working on complex e-commerce platforms, data analytics tools, or third-party API integrations.
• Proactive interest in leveraging emerging AI tools to enhance engineering productivity or user experience.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments.
