What You’ll Do:

Relate Search has partnered with one of the nation’s fastest growing environmental consulting firms on their Director of People & Culture.

The Director of People and Culture will lead a team of HR professionals and provide overall strategy, design, delivery, and management of the firm’s HR programs and services (talent acquisition, onboarding, career pathing, performance management, succession planning, payroll, and recognition, compensation, and benefit programs – total rewards), reporting to the Chief People Officer.

This is a one-of a-kind opportunity for an accomplished HR Leader who has proven experience partnering with a highly skilled, intellectually curious, science-minded firm to develop best-in-class strategies that support a “people focused” culture.

 

Responsibilities:

·      Play a key role in leading talent strategies, acting as a strategic business partner, thought leader, and change agent.

·      Provide strategic guidance on people and organizational issues.

·      Continuously work to advance the people strategy and growth of the firm as we expand into other states.

·      Proactively translate business needs of the firm into people-oriented solutions.

·      Work to attract and retain top talent through employee engagement strategies.

·      Oversee leadership pipeline and succession planning activity for the firm.

·      Develop and oversee leadership development programs to cultivate high-potential employees and future leaders.

·      Design and deliver enterprise-wide programs that enhance employee engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and team effectiveness.

·      Develop and execute a scalable talent management strategy that aligns with business objectives, project demands, and growth plans.

·      Develop and execute talent management frameworks, including workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, and leadership development to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and SPHR, SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of increasing experience in Human Resources with at least five years as manager or director with demonstrated strategic and operational knowledge of core HR fundamentals, including strategy, program management, and delivery of services and programs.
  • Strong command of California and federal labor and employment law required.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout California and western states (up to 30%).
  • Proven success in employee lifecycle (recruiting, onboarding, performance management, talent development, talent management, compensation and total rewards)
  • Demonstrated experience building HR programs from the ground up and transforming HR programs into best-in-class status.
  • Successful experience as part of a team that scaled or grew a business.
  • Strong business acumen and a proven record of partnering with and influencing all levels of leadership across the firm to design and implement effective HR programs and services.
  • Technologically adept and fluent in current technological trends including artificial intelligence and its application to human resources. Prior experience with HRMS or other technology implementations highly desired.
  • Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems. Paylocity and Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools. Experience supporting or leading HR or ERP software transitions.
