π° Compensation: $120,000β$140,000 base + up to 15% annual performance bonus
About the Role
Weβre looking for a technical leader and mentor for an
HVAC and energy services group in the Indianapolis area. This position would lead the Support Engineering team β a group responsible for HVAC system design, equipment selection, and operational coordination. This team supports Engineers designing commercial HVAC projects across Indiana, Florida, Ohio, and beyond. Youβll play a crucial role in developing the engineering teamβs technical skillsets and ensuring project accuracy, while also overseeing all back-end technical activities β from take-offs to shipping coordination.
What Youβll Do
- π¨βπΌ Lead and manage a team of 5β6 Support Engineers located in Indiana and Florida
- π§ Oversee and guide HVAC system design, take-offs, and equipment selection
- π Coordinate with Sales Engineers and the Operations Manager to support job wins and delivery
- π¦ Manage technical and logistical details including purchase orders, shipping, and manufacturer coordination
- π Implement technical training and career development initiatives for engineering staff
- π Travel between Indiana and Florida offices 1β2 times per quarter
- π― Ensure engineering output aligns with customer expectations and company goals
What Weβre Looking For
- β
Solid understanding of HVAC equipment and system design (commercial)
- β
8-10 years of experience with an equipment manufacturer, engineering firm, or contractor
- β
Experience with take-offs and equipment selection processes
- β
Previous engineering team leadership or management experience
- β
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- β
Ability to travel quarterly and work on-site with some flexibility
- β
Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
