Residential Draftsperson
Our client is a young dynamic team who is seeking a Residential Draftsperson, who has a positive can-do attitude, on a full-time ongoing basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Prioritise job orders
- Assist Drafting Manager to produce division efficiency
- Ascertain clear client briefs
- Produce accurate and detailed Concepts/Preliminary plans and/or Working Drawings for;
- Single level residential buildings;
- Medium level residential buildings; including multi-level duplex, townhouses, units.
- Ability to design for slope sensitive blocks.
- 3D modelling, fly throughs and other visual mediums
- Participate in design meetings.
- Develop and enhance our extensive house plan design library, ensuring it aligns with current trends and market demands.
- Provide Design Solutions for custom projects, ensuring that you are taking into consideration budget and local planning and zone requirements.
- 3D rendering may be required from time to time.
- Ensure that documentation is compliant with codes, guidelines, standards, specifications, and regulations including quality checks.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements, incorporating new design trends and technologies into our services.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
- Proficiency in ARCHICAD is a must.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience and preferably within a high-volume residential builder
- Able to communicate with other professionals, trades and supervisors when needed to assist them with relevant questions.
- Familiarity with current Australian Standard Building Codes and Practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of the NCC, BCA & QDC and state council regulations
- A well-curated portfolio showcasing your past projects and accompanied by references affirming your work experience.
- Demonstrated strengths in organisation, attention to detail, efficient task execution, creative problem-solving, collaboration within a team, and a strong sense of pride in your work and personal contributions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and internal teams.
- Technical writing skills, along with the ability to source, comprehend, and apply relevant Covenants, POD, Building/Development, and/or SEPP/CDC Codes to project tasks.
- A solid understanding of construction methods and the ability to skillfully draft residential plan documentation.
