The Company

They are a creative, forward-thinking game development studio built by experienced veterans of the gaming industry. The team is currently developing a AAA third-person action-adventure RPG inspired by a beloved intellectual property set in a fantasy world. The Role

The Quest Designer will be responsible for shaping engaging, story-driven experiences that bring the world and its characters to life. This role involves designing and implementing narrative and gameplay quests that align seamlessly with the game’s vision and mechanics. Working closely with design, narrative, art, and technical teams, the Quest Designer will take ideas from concept to fully functional in-game experiences. This is an opportunity to influence the emotional and interactive heart of a large-scale RPG.



The Responsibilities


  • Quest & Level Design: Develop immersive quests and engaging level layouts, incorporating exploration, challenges, and storytelling that enhance the player’s journey.
  • Gameplay Integration: Build, script, and test interactive gameplay elements using industry-standard development tools and visual scripting systems.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams—including narrative writers, technical designers, artists, and animators—to bring the game’s creative vision to life.
  • Iteration & Feedback: Refine and balance quests and levels through playtesting, ensuring pacing, challenge, and player engagement remain at the highest standard.
  • Documentation: Produce clear and detailed design documents that communicate intent, flow, and technical requirements for implementation.
  • Quality Assurance: Test, debug, and polish quests to ensure a smooth and rewarding player experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends, game design innovations, and best practices in quest and level design.



The Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in AAA game development.
  • Proven experience through all major phases of production—from concept to post-launch support.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing creative quest and level design work.
  • Proficiency with visual scripting tools (e.g., Unreal Blueprint) and familiarity with level editing software.
  • Strong understanding of gameplay flow, pacing, and environmental storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max) is considered an asset.
  • Passion for narrative-driven games and a deep understanding of player experience and motivation.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving design needs.
