The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interior Designer to take a senior role within a collaborative and design-focused studio. The ideal candidate will bring a strong creative perspective and technical expertise, with a proven track record of successfully leading design projects and project teams from concept through completion.
The Senior Interior Designer will be accountable for the overall success and delivery of their projects, including design quality, timelines, communication, client relationships, deliverables, and team coordination. They will own project execution and day-to-day decision-making while working closely with the Creative Director on the overall creative direction and vision.

Responsibilities
- Take full ownership and accountability for interior design projects from initial concept through design development, documentation, and final execution.
- Lead project delivery, ensuring design quality, timelines, budgets, communication, and deliverables remain on track.
- Work closely with the Creative Director on overall creative direction while independently owning project execution and day-to-day project decisions.
- Develop strong, concept-driven design solutions that balance creativity, functionality, and project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead client communication, presentations, meetings, and ongoing relationship management, ensuring expectations are clearly managed and projects are delivered successfully.
- Create and oversee design packages, including layouts, material selections, specifications, construction drawings, and millwork packages.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits and support the successful implementation of design intent.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, priorities, and deliverables, proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
- Provide direction, delegate tasks, and support junior and intermediate team members, taking accountability for team coordination and outcomes.
- Make informed design and project decisions and take ownership of their impact on the overall project.
- Contribute to the creative development and overall design direction of the studio.
- Stay current with materials, design trends, and industry developments.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience delivering residential and/or commercial interior design projects.
- Proven track record of successfully leading design projects from concept through completion, including responsibility for project delivery and outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coordinating, and delegating to project teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating either exceptional creative/conceptual design or significant technical and project leadership experience.
- Experience across commercial, multifamily, and single-family residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of space planning, materials, finishes, construction drawings, specifications, and millwork packages.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong client-facing, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability for projects, decisions, deliverables, and team outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the BC Building Code.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative studio environment.
