Technical Manager - SaaS Platform and Delivery

This is a role that sits right at the centre of a scaling SaaS business that has outgrown the way it delivers to customers.


Over the past 12–18 months, the business has grown rapidly. Delivery has kept pace commercially, but technically it has become too bespoke, too manual and too inconsistent.


Every new implementation is starting to feel like a new build.


This hire fixes that.


You will define how the platform should be delivered, introduce structure and standards, and create a repeatable model that allows the business to scale without breaking.


The Role

This is not a delivery role and it is not a pure engineering role. It sits between both.


You will own how the platform is implemented across all customers, setting the standards, guardrails and patterns that delivery teams must follow.


You will:

  • Define and enforce solution architecture standards across all implementations
  • Create reference architectures and reusable patterns to eliminate one-off builds
  • Act as the gateway between Delivery and Engineering, ensuring solutions align to platform capability
  • Improve how consultants and technical teams work with the product
  • Support pre-sales and complex deals with technical validation and feasibility
  • Uplift technical capability across Delivery without owning delivery execution


This role has real authority. You can challenge, block and reshape solutions that do not meet standards.


The outcome is simple. Faster delivery, better quality, and a platform that scales properly.


What You Bring

  • Strong background in SaaS implementation, consulting, or solution architecture environments
  • Experience introducing structure into messy or inconsistent delivery models
  • Ability to translate complex customer requirements into scalable platform-aligned solutions
  • Confidence to challenge stakeholders across Delivery, Product and Sales
  • Experience defining standards, governance and reusable solution patterns
  • A commercial mindset, balancing customer needs with long-term platform integrity


This is not about being the most technical person in the room. It is about being the person who sets the rules for how things should be done.
