The Role

An experienced Senior Software Engineer is sought to join the Payments group as a backend-focused contributor. This role will play a critical part in building and scaling the systems that power high-volume financial transactions and internal ledger infrastructure. Working closely with product and commercial teams, this engineer will help design resilient payment flows, maintain financial accuracy across systems, and deliver backend services capable of supporting large-scale transaction volumes.

Responsibilities

• Lead reconciliation of transactions across multiple financial providers
• Ensure alignment between internal financial records and customer-facing balances
• Contribute to the development and scalability of general ledger infrastructure
• Collaborate with an external ledger provider to support reliable transaction processing at scale
• Design and implement new money-movement flows across payment rails such as push-to-card and wire transfers
• Own critical backend and platform projects end-to-end, from system design through production operations
• Build architecture capable of supporting billions in annual payment volume with strong reliability controls
• Partner with product and go-to-market teams to translate complex operational needs into scalable technical solutions

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience building distributed systems
• Previous experience working in a growing start up environment.
• Experience working with payments, fintech platforms, or transaction-heavy systems
• Ruby and React experience.
• Product focused way of thinking.
• Deep understanding of data integrity, reconciliation, and system reliability
• Proven ability to design scalable backend architecture
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and financial systems
• Track record of owning projects end-to-end in production systems
