The Role

They are seeking an experienced Senior SEO Strategist to join their growing organic search team. This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic SEO initiatives for a diverse portfolio of clients while helping businesses improve their visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search experiences.The successful candidate will combine technical SEO expertise with commercial thinking, using data-driven insights to develop tailored search strategies that support long-term growth. They will work across a variety of industries and website types while collaborating closely with internal specialists to deliver exceptional client outcomes.


The Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with each client's commercial objectives, competitive landscape and target audience.
  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve website performance, crawlability and search visibility.
  • Design optimisation strategies for a range of website types, including local businesses, e-commerce platforms, franchise organisations and highly regulated industries.
  • Develop strategies that address the growing influence of AI-powered search experiences, including large language models and generative search platforms.
  • Monitor search performance, analyse organic traffic trends and provide practical recommendations for ongoing optimisation.
  • Present campaign results, strategic recommendations and performance insights to clients through regular meetings and reporting.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of client accounts while acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Support website redesigns, migrations, content optimisation initiatives and user experience improvements from an SEO perspective.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams to deliver integrated digital strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, search algorithm updates and emerging technologies to ensure clients remain competitive.
  • Share knowledge, contribute to internal best practices and assist with the ongoing development of SEO processes and methodologies.


The Requirements

  • At least four years of SEO experience within a digital agency or consulting environment.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge supported by experience conducting audits and developing long-term optimisation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency with industry-leading SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GTmetrix and similar optimisation tools.
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console and other reporting platforms to measure performance and identify opportunities.
  • Practical experience working with WordPress, including page optimisation and content management.
  • Strong understanding of how generative AI and large language models are influencing the future of search and digital visibility.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with confidence managing client relationships.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine passion for search marketing, innovation and continuous learning.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and French is highly desirable.


The Remuneration

  • Competitive salary: $70,000 - $90,000 CAD
  • Three weeks of annual leave during the first year, increasing to four weeks in the second year and five weeks after three years of service.
  • A 4.5-day working week, with Friday afternoons free.
  • A four-day work week during the summer months.
  • The flexibility to work remotely from overseas for up to nine weeks each year.
  • One paid volunteer day annually to support charitable causes.
