This is an in-person team, operating from San Francisco, with a strong belief that velocity, trust, and product quality are built shoulder-to-shoulder. Founded by titans of Big Tech, coupled with reputable VCs and a global client-base, they’re headed in one direction. Up.  

The Role

They two Backend Engineers, with strengths in Python, to help carry the core platform through its next phase of growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build foundational systems, not babysit legacy code or sit behind process for process’s sake. You’ll be joining at a point where the product works, customers are paying, and the real work now is scale, reliability, and speed. Engineers here don’t get boxed into narrow lanes. They own outcomes, not tickets.

Location: Downtown San Francisco, CA (on-site, five days per week)

Compensation: $150,000–$250,000 base salary depending on level, plus equity and benefits

The Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems that are central to the product’s performance and reliability
• Take ownership of substantial parts of the backend codebase, primarily in Python
• Ship new features that directly unblock customers and revenue
• Improve infrastructure stability, scalability, and internal tooling as usage grows
• Work closely with technical leadership to influence architecture and long-term technical direction
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving, high-expectation environment

The Requirements

• 5+ years building and shipping real products, ideally in growth-stage environments
• Strong Python experience, with backend engineering fundamentals
• Experience with B2B SaaS and the start-ups
• Confidence in building reliable, scalable, and easy to evolve systems.
• Focused on ownership, judgement, and follow-through more than box-ticking
• Clear communication skills
• This is a build-it, fix-it, own-it mentality
