Account Executive (Defense)

A rapidly expanding Australian advanced technology company developing mission-critical navigation and autonomy solutions for defence, aerospace, robotics and commercial applications.


Due to continued growth across the APAC defence market, the business is seeking an experienced Account Executive to build strategic customer relationships, accelerate market share and deliver sustainable regional revenue.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end sales process from prospecting through to contract close
  • Develop new opportunities across defence organisations, industry partners and strategic accounts
  • Manage and strengthen customer relationships throughout the complete customer lifecycle
  • Execute the APAC go-to-market strategy alongside regional sales leadership
  • Communicate compelling technical, commercial and ROI-based value propositions
  • Understand customer requirements and collaborate with application engineering teams
  • Map key stakeholders, build internal champions and guide complex buying decisions
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts and revenue reporting
  • Represent the organisation at customer meetings, presentations and industry events
  • Collaborate with global teams to improve sales execution and regional growth
  • Provide market and customer insights to support product development
  • Travel domestically and internationally across APAC as required


Desired Skills and Attributes

  • At least eight years of experience within Defence or the Defence Industry
  • Strong understanding of military capability acquisition processes
  • Knowledge of assured positioning, navigation and timing solutions
  • Proven success managing complex, enterprise-level sales cycles
  • Experience engaging senior defence, government and industry stakeholders
  • Strong strategic account planning, prospecting and opportunity management skills
  • Executive presence with confident presentation and negotiation capabilities
  • Interest in inertial sensors, GNSS, acoustics, optical sensors and robotics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts accurately and persuasively
  • Strong CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy and commercial judgement
  • Collaborative approach across sales, engineering and product teams
  • Highly organised, proactive and accountable working style
  • Willingness to support customers across multiple APAC time zones
  • Availability for approximately 25 per cent domestic and international travel
