A specialist Australian fintech business delivering a sophisticated, cloud-based SaaS platform that supports complex financial products, operational workflows and customer experiences. The business is expanding its engineering capability and is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to strengthen platform reliability, automation and delivery confidence.
You will join the Platform Engineering team and work directly alongside platform developers, embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Initially, you will report to a Platform Team Lead while collaborating closely with Engineering, Product and other technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute effective testing strategies across the development lifecycle
- Embed quality practices within the Platform Engineering team
- Collaborate closely with platform developers, Team Leads and Product
- Identify quality risks early and support efficient defect resolution
- Build, maintain and debug automated tests using Java and JUnit
- Improve automated test coverage, reliability and testing efficiency
- Perform functional, integration, regression and performance testing
- Validate software changes before production deployment
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Continuously improve testing frameworks, tools and QA processes
- Promote quality considerations during solution design and development
- Support secure handling of personal and confidential information
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Experience in software quality assurance within a SaaS, platform or product environment
- Strong knowledge of modern automated testing practices
- Practical experience with Java and JUnit or equivalent frameworks
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test suites
- Understanding of functional, integration, regression and performance testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Experience embedding quality throughout agile development lifecycles
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to clearly communicate defects, risks and testing outcomes
- Collaborative approach when working with engineers and Product
- Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to reliable software delivery
