The Company

This organization is a North American fashion retailer specializing in contemporary, accessible apparel for women. With decades of experience in the industry, they design, produce, and distribute trend-driven collections through a combination of physical retail locations and digital storefronts. Their brands focus on delivering modern, style-forward pieces that resonate with a broad customer base while maintaining a strong connection to evolving fashion trends.

Operating hundreds of retail locations across Canada and the United States, they also provide immersive online shopping experiences through their e-commerce platforms. Their continued growth is driven by a commitment to creativity, innovation, and a customer-first approach to fashion.

The Role

They are seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join their creative team. In this role, the successful candidate will help shape the visual direction of assigned product categories while translating emerging fashion trends into commercially successful collections. The position requires a strong balance of creative vision and practical execution, ensuring designs align with both the brand aesthetic and market demand.

The Responsibilities:

  • Interpret seasonal concepts and emerging trends to develop designs for assigned product categories.
  • Collaborate with product teams to create collections that support strong sales performance while managing margins and minimizing markdowns.
  • Develop cohesive product assortments that reflect the brand’s identity and appeal to their target customer.
  • Partner closely with technical designers, pattern makers, and fit specialists to ensure garments meet quality, fit, and construction standards.
  • Work collaboratively with buying teams to bring innovative and market-relevant ideas to the product line.
  • Coordinate with production teams to balance creative ambition with manufacturing realities such as cost, timelines, and quality requirements.
  • Source and explore new materials, washes, trims, and finishes that enhance product offerings while remaining within cost parameters.
  • Follow established design timelines and deliverables throughout the development cycle.
  • Conduct seasonal market research by analyzing both domestic and international fashion trends.

The Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in apparel design.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong sense of color, design, and fashion aesthetics.
  • Fluency in either English or French for daily communication with internal teams and external partners.
  • Solid understanding of fashion trends, product development, and the apparel industry.

Why Apply

Joining this team means becoming part of a dynamic and evolving fashion organization that values creativity and collaboration. They offer competitive compensation, including performance-based incentives, a retirement savings program with employer contributions, flexible benefits coverage, employee discounts, exclusive product sales, and a flexible vacation policy.

If you are passionate about fashion design and enjoy bringing new ideas to life in a fast-paced retail environment, they encourage you to apply and be part of shaping the next generation of collections.
