The Role:
Based in North York, the Product Integrity Specialist will support the development and ongoing integrity of licensed Natural Health Products. Working closely with the Director of Product Development & Integrity, this position provides technical review across Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance, helping ensure formulations, raw materials, and documentation are accurate, compliant, and commercially viable.
Responsibilities:
- Review formulations for ingredient compatibility, dosage accuracy, claims alignment, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability.
- Conduct technical reviews of R&D samples across powdered, liquid, and encapsulated formats.
- Review master formulations and raw material documentation, including COAs, technical data sheets, allergen and GMO statements.
- Support stability programs by reviewing protocols, formulation inputs, and data trends.
- Identify formulation or ingredient changes requiring regulatory review, label updates, or change control.
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and contract manufacturers on technical and product requirements.
- Support investigations involving formulation or ingredient-related deviations and OOS results.
- Contribute to SOPs, technical review processes, change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of Health Canada NHP regulations and industry guidance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Natural Health Products or U.S. dietary supplements.
- Hands-on experience with master formulation review, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of Health Canada NHP regulations and licensing requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Project management experience or certification is an asset.
