The Company

Our client is a Brisbane-based technology innovator that has fundamentally reimagined how medium voltage systems are connected. Their world-first composite electrical and fibre optic connector systems are lighter, safer, and more cost-effective than anything the market has seen before, and they are trusted by some of the most demanding operators across mining, defence, naval, and heavy industry. As the business continues to scale globally, they are now investing in the infrastructure to match their ambitions, and this newly created role is a key part of that next chapter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO 9001-aligned QMS across the business
  • Manage all document control processes, ensuring procedures, work instructions, and records are accurate, current, and accessible
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, identify non-conformances, and drive CAPA processes through to resolution
  • Support external audits and certification activities as the primary liaison with certification bodies
  • Manage supplier quality processes including assessments, approved vendor lists, and supplier performance monitoring
  • Produce quality reporting and data analysis to support management review and strategic decision-making
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across operations, manufacturing, and supply chain
  • Build awareness and understanding of quality standards across the wider team through coaching and communication

Desired Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience in a QMS, quality assurance, or quality analyst role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and practical experience with auditing, document control, and CAPA management
  • Experience working in or alongside industries with stringent compliance requirements such as mining, resources, defence, or heavy industry
  • Confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels, from the production floor to the boardroom
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams without dropping the ball
  • Comfortable working autonomously and making sound decisions without constant direction
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, quality management, or a related discipline are desirable but not essential

Why Join?

This is a genuine opportunity to own the quality function inside a company doing something that has never been done before. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have a real seat at the table and the scope to shape how quality is understood and practised as the business grows. You will not be a cog in a machine. The team is small, the culture is high-performing, and the work carries real-world significance across some of the most safety-critical environments in industry. You will be joining at a pivotal moment, stepping in to take ownership of an existing QMS and build it into something that genuinely reflects the standard this business holds itself to.
