Dual Certified Inspector - CWI/NACE Required


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dual Certified Inspector with both Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certifications to join our quality assurance team. This role involves comprehensive inspection services across welding and corrosion control projects in industrial, marine, and infrastructure environments.


Required Certifications:


  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • Current NACE certification (NACE CP1, CP2, CP3, or CIP Level 1/2/3)
  • Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in industrial settings
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review and interpret welding procedures, drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct pre-weld, in-process, and final weld inspections
  • Document welding defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Verify welder qualifications and procedure compliance
  • Inspect protective coating systems and cathodic protection installations
  • Evaluate surface preparation standards and coating application procedures
  • Monitor corrosion control systems and recommend maintenance schedules
  • Conduct pipeline integrity assessments and facility corrosion surveys
  • Review and approve coating specifications and application procedures
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes (AWS D1.1, API, ASME, NACE standards)
  • Participate in project planning and quality assurance program development
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior inspection personnel
  • Experience with coating systems, cathodic protection, and pipeline integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in challenging field environments
  • Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoor conditions


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or marine industries
  • Familiarity with API 570, API 510, or similar pressure vessel codes
  • Project management or supervisory experience
