WEEKLY ATTENDANCE: 850

Meet Wellspring Church

Wellspring Church is a vibrant, welcoming faith community located in Englewood, Colorado, just south of Denver near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Founded with a vision to see God’s kingdom realized "Here as It Is in Heaven," the church serves as an inviting spiritual home for young families, long-time believers, and spiritual seekers alike. More than just a Sunday gathering place, Wellspring is built around an authentic, intergenerational environment where people from all backgrounds, from metro-area commuters to local neighbors, can find genuine hospitality, encounter God, and grow as devoted followers of Jesus.

At the center of everything they do is a commitment to being a "Three Streams" church: rooted in the Gospel, alive in the Spirit, and formed by the liturgy. They hold a high view of Scripture, prioritizing biblically-grounded preaching alongside weekly communion and historic sacramental traditions. Their weekend services are characterized by vibrant, Spirit-led worship and rich corporate prayer, avoiding trendiness or performance in favor of substantive teaching and ancient rhythms that provide deep spiritual nourishment for every generation.

The heart of Wellspring is seen in its passionate care for the community and its warm culture where people are genuinely loved and supported. Through intentional leadership development like the 3 Streams Institute, robust family ministries, intentional discipleship, and hands-on outreach to the unhoused and under-resourced, Wellspring equips its people to serve their city, bridge diverse backgrounds with grace, and extend God's kingdom into daily life.

About the Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Wellspring Church serves as a trusted right-hand leader and strategic partner to the Lead Pastor. From overseeing the operational infrastructure necessary to accomplishing ministry goals, this role translates big picture vision into clear priorities, disciplined stewardship, and sustainable organizational capacity without sacrificing the church’s warm, relational heart. More than a traditional administrator, the CAO acts as a supportive bridge across ministry leaders, staff, and the Board of Directors. The CAO brings confidence, humility, wisdom, and high emotional intelligence to complex decisions. Ultimately, the position balances business-savvy oversight with pastoral care, fostering a healthy staff culture and keeping the church's unique spiritual DNA front and center as Wellspring scales for future growth. The position reports to the Lead Pastor, supervises the Operations Director, Financial Controller, and Director of HR, sits on the Executive Team, and supports the Board of Directors.

The Chief Administrative Officer's responsibilities include:

  • Strategy and EOS: Turn the Lead Pastor’s vision into annual goals, quarterly priorities, scorecards, and clear accountability.
  • Operations for organizational growth: Build the plans, budgets, and systems needed to grow from one congregation to a network of regional chapels.
  • Financial planning: Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, capital investments, and debt management with the Treasurer and Finance Committee.
  • Board support: Coordinate board meetings, prepare materials, support committees, and track follow-up items.
  • Business operations: Oversee Finance, Operations, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities.
  • Risk management: Oversee legal matters, contracts, insurance, financial controls, and crisis planning.
  • Major projects: Lead complex projects across teams, including facility expansion, staff reorganizations, and strategy implementation.
  • Organizational structure: Keep roles and responsibilities clear, balance workloads, and plan staffing as the church grows.
  • Ministry support: Ensure budgets, staff, and administrative systems support the church’s ministry priorities.
  • Leadership development: Coach ministry and executive leaders in goal-setting, communication, conflict resolution, and team management.
  • Financial accountability: Maintain sound financial controls, clear reporting, and reliable accounting practices to protect the church’s resources.

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications

  • Abiding spiritual grounding: A mature disciple of Jesus whose executive leadership flows directly out of prayer, communion with Scripture, and personal spiritual dependence rather than self-reliance.
  • Confident, steadying presence: A calm, unflappable posture that brings wisdom, composure, and emotional stability during periods of rapid growth and complex change.
  • Servant-hearted humility: A posture that delights in exercising substantial authority in the second chair, joyfully serving under the Senior Pastor's vision without needing to seek the spotlight or personal prominence.
  • Commercial wisdom with a ministry heart: An authentic posture that holds corporate business wisdom and deep ministry fluency in harmony, viewing operational systems as an empowering trellis for spiritual life rather than a corporate end in itself.
  • Courageous candor and low ego: The willingness to offer unvarnished truth, ask hard questions, and refine plans and ideas while remaining fully aligned and supportive once a decision is finalized.
  • High emotional intelligence: Deep self-awareness, relational wisdom, and active listening skills that foster trust across clergy, ministry staff, board members, and congregants alike.
  • Curiosity and teachability: A posture marked by genuine inquiry, active listening, and a lack of self-importance, seeking to deeply understand people and context before prescribing operational fixes.
  • Relational warmth and accessibility: An incarnational, approachable presence that values face-to-face connection, staff care, and mutual encouragement over isolated executive management.
  • Tenacity and high-capacity: A proactive, energetic spirit capable of maintaining pace and resilience within a dynamic, high-ambition organizational environment.
  • Grace-filled conflict navigator: Maturity in facing interpersonal tensions directly, maintaining confidentiality, rejecting gossip, and pursuing grace-filled reconciliation.
  • Alignment with "Three Streams" ethos: Love of Scripture, personal experience with the Holy Spirit, and admiration of liturgy.
  • Kingdom-minded integrity: A conviction that administration is a true spiritual calling, prioritizing the spiritual and relational health of the church over purely transactional outcomes.

What it's like to live in Englewood, CO

Living in Englewood feels like discovering a hidden gem in the Denver metro area. It has an unpretentious, neighborly character that balances a relaxed pace of life with easy access to downtown Denver. It’s an established community where people connect at local coffee shops, greet neighbors on evening walks, and put down roots.

There’s plenty to enjoy close to home, too. Belleview Park offers a miniature train and creek for kids to explore, while Pirates Cove is a summer favorite. The light rail makes getting downtown or to a game easy, and the historic South Broadway corridor is full of locally owned shops, breweries, and great restaurants.

Englewood offers the best of both worlds: the comfort and community of a neighborhood with the convenience and energy of the city nearby. It’s a place where you can enjoy a quiet evening at home, spend a day outdoors, or meet friends for dinner, all without venturing far from home.
