Meet First Presbyterian Church Fayetteville
Founded in 1800, First Presbyterian Church Fayetteville is one of the oldest congregations in Cumberland County, with roots tracing back to early Presbyterian settlers in the region. Under the leadership of Reverend John Robinson, the church formally organized in 1801 and quickly became a central place of worship and community life. The congregation constructed its first building in 1816, but after it was destroyed in the devastating 1831 fire that swept through Fayetteville, the church was rebuilt in 1832—symbolizing both resilience and a deep commitment to its mission.
Today, FPC Fayetteville carries forward this rich legacy by remaining a Christ-centered, mission-driven church grounded in the Reformed tradition. With a focus on worship, fellowship, spiritual growth, and outreach, the church continues to serve both its local community and broader global efforts. Its long history, combined with an ongoing dedication to faith and service, reflects a congregation that honors its past while actively engaging the present.
