Turning Point Christian Academy is a Christian K–10 school located in St. Augustine, FL. At Turning Point, Christian education is far more than chapel services and Bible classes - at the heart of the school, they value a Christ-centered approach woven into every aspect of the school day, intentionally nurturing each student toward a personal love for Jesus Christ and for others through meaningful biblical integration across all academics and activities.

Turning Point Christian Academy embraces their mission to develop leaders with godly character who impact the world for Jesus Christ. They accomplish this through excellence, providing an outstanding educational experience for students three years old up to 10th grade, from those just beginning their educational journey to highly motivated, college-bound sophomores seeking academic challenge and preparation. The school also continues to grow and develop with a strategic plan to add 11th and 12th grade students in the near future. They also are boldly stepping into a master facility site plan to begin shortly, with a Performing Arts Center that will serve as a major hub for student development. 

Above all, Turning Point Christian aims to provide education that is the development of the whole person—spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and ethically. They desire to educate students in partnership with parents to develop their children’s God-given talents, so that they will live with a purposeful and ethical life in accordance with biblical principles.

About the Head of School

The Head of School serves as the chief educational, operational, and spiritual executive officer of Turning Point Christian Academy. Working in close alignment with Pastoral leadership — specifically Executive Pastor, Hunter Conrad, the Head of School is responsible for advancing a Christ-centered educational ministry that develops students to know Christ, think biblically, and impact the world for God's glory.

The ideal Head of School acts as a collaborative bridge-builder between church and school leadership, ensuring theological harmony, operational efficiency, continuous enrollment expansion, academic excellence, and staff mentorship.

The Head of School's responsibilities include:

• Spiritual Leadership: Demonstrate a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ; lead chapel services, devotions, and prayer initiatives; integrate biblical truth across all academic subjects; promote discipleship and biblical conflict resolution among staff and students.
• Mission & Vision Leadership: Champion and protect the Portrait of a Graduate; align school vision with Turning Point at Calvary church ministries; lead long-range strategic planning and institutional goal setting.
• Academic Leadership: Oversee a rigorous K–12 Christ-centered curriculum; supervise and evaluate school principals and instructional staff; maintain 7-year ACSI accreditation standards and continuous academic improvement.
• Personnel Leadership: Recruit, hire, mentor, and retain highly qualified Christian faculty and staff; foster a leadership culture of trust, accountability, and servant leadership; conduct meaningful spiritual and professional staff evaluations.
• Student Development: Nurture students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically; support student leadership, athletics, fine arts, and worship band; administer discipleship-based discipline focused on heart transformation.
• Family & Community Engagement: Partner intentionally with parents as primary spiritual influencers; maintain open, transparent communication; cultivate relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners.
• Financial & Operational Leadership: Direct the development and faithful stewardship of the $4.0M operating budget; oversee facilities, safety, risk management, and technology; lead capital projects including the new $3.5M Performing Arts Center.
• Church Relations & Alignment: Maintain seamless theological alignment and ministry integration between the academy and parent church; provide transparent operational reporting to church leadership.

What you bring

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or Doctorate in Educational Leadership / Administration highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 to 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in Christian education or closely related ministry.
• Administrative Credential: Must have previously held a School Administrator position (Head of School Principal, or Superintendent). ACSI or state administrator credentials preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A mature, active follower of Jesus Christ who will become an active, committed member of Turning Point at Calvary Church.
• A collaborative 'unifier' and team-builder who thrives in a warm, relational 'family' culture.
• Able to gracefully navigate change and change fatigue among staff.
• Holds conservative personal values while remaining non-overtly political.
• Seamlessly bridges the church and school communities as one unified ministry.
