What it's like to live in Montgomery, Texas

Montgomery, Texas sits about an hour north of Houston along the Lake Conroe corridor. The city continues to grow rapidly, with new neighborhoods and families moving into the area each year. Montgomery offers the “best of both worlds”: a slower pace and a strong sense of community, with quick access to the amenities of the greater Houston region. For candidates with families, the local public schools are a meaningful strength. Montgomery ISD is widely regarded as a strong district and is rated highly by third-party evaluators. Outdoor recreation is a normal part of life here—between Lake Conroe, the Sam Houston National Forest, and the San Jacinto River, there’s plenty of boating, fishing, hiking, and time outside within a short drive. (And for travel, Houston’s major airport is generally within reasonable driving distance.) April Sound itself is a unique, multi-generational lakeside community—some residents have been here since the 1970s, alongside many newer neighbors. The privately owned April Sound Country Club is a central feature of the neighborhood and includes dining, swimming, fitness, racquet sports, and 27 holes of golf.
