Associate Attorney, Complex Commercial Litigation

Compensation: $120,000–$180,000 per year (based on experience) + performance-based bonus potential

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of complex commercial and real estate litigation in state and federal courts.
- Oversee discovery, electronic document management (ESI), motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and appellate briefs with precision and clarity.
- Represent clients in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Handle disputes involving real estate development, construction contracts, zoning, land use, financing, and corporate liability.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Provide proactive risk management and regulatory compliance guidance to clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure effective litigation and resolution strategies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic performance.
- Active member of the California Bar in good standing.
- 2–7 years of litigation experience in private practice, ideally with exposure to real estate, corporate, or complex commercial matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with a proven ability to handle sophisticated cases.
- Excellent verbal communication and client relations skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced legal degree (LL.M.) in Real Property, Construction, or related field.
- Trial experience as first or second chair, or experience before administrative bodies.
- Prior involvement in appellate advocacy, including drafting or arguing briefs.
- Experience advising on corporate risk management or professional liability matters.
- Familiarity with compliance, fraud, or regulatory enforcement cases.
