Nurse Practitioner - Behavioral Health

Compensation: $150K-$165K

Our Client a top teaching hospital in New York City, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing professional, clinical, educational, supervisory, and administrative support in patient care within their scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous, comprehensive care, including preventive and supportive services to patients and families.
  • Manage health issues and coordinate care for various patient populations.
  • Diagnose conditions and implement therapeutic measures, distinguishing normal and abnormal health findings.
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations and refer to physicians or other professionals as needed.
  • Evaluate patient data to plan and implement nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine treatment for improved outcomes.
  • Formulate diagnoses and care plans based on patient assessments and medical history.
  • Order, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe treatments.
  • Document patient information and maintain coordinated care records.
  • Serve as a resource for nursing staff.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives in the specialty.
  • Seek feedback for performance enhancement.
  • Provide clinical instruction to staff, students, and community groups.
  • Participate in research and healthcare studies.
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and students.
  • Help achieve hospital goals for quality and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State RN license and current registration.
  • Nurse Practitioner certification from NYSED.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
