Dental Hygienist

Employment Type: Full-Time. Flexible on days/hours. No weekends.

Location: Marion, Ohio

We are seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to join a collaborative, patient-centered community health organization. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care while developing individualized dental care plans under the supervision of a qualified dentist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess dental condition and patient needs through screening procedures
  • Review medical history and perform dental and periodontal charting
  • Take vital signs as required
  • Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene protocols
  • Perform routine preventive and therapeutic treatment procedures
  • Develop and implement individualized dental care plans
  • Document dental history and treatment in the EHR
  • Provide patient and family education on oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Participate in discharge planning and patient teaching
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes
  • Perform triage and initiate care for walk-in patients as appropriate
  • Prepare and maintain patient care areas and dental equipment
  • Assist with or initiate emergency measures during adverse developments
  • Independently perform emergency dental procedures within scope
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene
  • Strong knowledge of dental outpatient regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to independently assess dental and periodontal conditions
  • Proficiency in patient screening, charting, and documentation
  • Ability to formulate therapeutic treatment plans based on prescribed protocols
  • Skilled in performing a full range of dental hygiene procedures
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients
  • Knowledge of dental surgery procedures, terminology, and instrumentation
  • Ability to set up and maintain equipment in accordance with regulations
