Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Compensation: $63,000 – $78,000  per year

Job Type: Full Time. Monday - Friday. Day shift

Our client is a dedicated school providing specialized support for children. We are seeking a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team in the Bronx. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about pediatric care and possesses the linguistic skills to support a diverse student population. We welcome new graduates to apply.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tests and observations to identify and assess speech and language difficulties.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) with specific goals, therapy strategies, and measurable outcomes tailored to each student.
  • Provide individual or group therapy using techniques like articulation drills, language stimulation, and play-based interventions.
  • Deliver therapeutic services in both English and Spanish to meet the specific communication needs of bilingual students and their families.
  • Work with teachers, parents, and professionals to support student communication needs and overall development.
  • Maintain progress records, write reports for IEP meetings, and communicate findings clearly.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current New York licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Strong understanding of child development and typical speech and language milestones.

Preferred

  • Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with school-based documentation and IEP processes.
