Regional Clinical Director
Location: Massachusetts & Connecticut (Multi-Site Regional Coverage)
Schedule: Full-Time Hours | Frequent Regional Travel | 24/7 On-Call Availability for Emergencies
A premier skilled nursing organization is seeking a strategic, high-performing RN Regional Clinical Director to oversee five skilled nursing centers across Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Partnering with a peer Regional Director and reporting directly to the Vice President of Clinical Operations, this executive clinical leader is accountable for driving standardized evidence-based care, total regulatory compliance, and Five-Star quality outcomes across the region. Balancing operational support with financial and clinical stewardship, you will mentor Directors of Nursing Services (DNS), lead survey readiness, validate quality assurance processes, and serve as the region's subject matter expert on state and federal healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Multi-Site Oversight: Partner with peer leadership to establish, validate, and standardize clinical systems; drive CMS Quality Measures and Five-Star ratings by analyzing monthly CASPER and PointRight data

Regulatory Command & Crisis Management: Serve as regional SME on Massachusetts (105 CMR 150) and Connecticut (Title 19) regulations; direct annual certification, complaint surveys, and recovery plans while acting as primary contact for DPH/CMS reportable events

Quality Assurance & Audit Validation: Oversee regional internal audit validation through sampling; analyze EMR tracking systems (PCC/UDA) for infection control, skin injuries, and hospitalizations to design regional Plan of Correction templates and Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs)

Leadership Mentorship & Human Capital: Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring facility DNS and nursing leadership; provide interim clinical leadership during DNS vacancies to ensure regulatory stability

Workforce & Financial Stewardship: Collaborate with facility leadership to optimize staffing models using OnShift and payroll data; participate in clinical budget development to balance care excellence with resource allocations

Regional Travel & Emergency Coverage: Maintain a strong physical presence across five regional centers in MA and CT, while providing 24-hour on-call clinical support for regional emergencies
Qualifications:

Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in both Massachusetts and Connecticut required (or eligible for immediate reciprocity/Nurse Licensure Compact endorsement)

Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred

Clinical Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) industry, including at least 3 years as a successful Director of Nursing Services (DNS)

Multi-Site Expertise: Prior experience in a Regional or Multi-Site Clinical Consultant role is strongly preferred, with a proven track record of maintaining survey readiness and improving clinical outcomes across multiple locations

Analytical & EMR Skills: High proficiency leveraging data-driven platforms—including PointClickCare (PCC), PointRight, OnShift, and CASPER—to mitigate clinical risk and optimize Five-Star Quality Measures

Travel & Operational Flexibility: Valid driver's license with the ability to travel frequently across five regional centers in MA/CT and maintain 24/7 on-call resource availability
