Vice President of Human Resources & Workforce Strategy

Location: Plainview, NY

Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $170,000 – $200,000 per year

A leading nonprofit healthcare and human services organization serving thousands across Long Island is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Human Resources & Workforce Strategy. This executive-level HR leader will join the senior leadership team and direct a large HR division supporting a workforce of more than 3,000 employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, labor relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and workforce analytics.
  • Drive effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain qualified, mission-focused staff across multiple service areas.
  • Design and implement professional growth and leadership development programs to support advancement and strengthen retention.
  • Foster an inclusive, equitable workplace culture grounded in diversity, belonging, and respect.
  • Lead engagement and recognition initiatives that enhance morale, job satisfaction, and employee appreciation.
  • Ensure a competitive, compliant benefits portfolio that supports organizational goals while minimizing risk.
  • Partner with the executive team and board on long-term workforce planning and organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with DEI leadership to develop and implement initiatives that promote equity and inclusive practices across the organization.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience with DEI initiatives required
  • Track record of success in managing HR functions within large, complex organizations; healthcare or nonprofit background is a plus.
  • Broad expertise spanning employee relations, compliance, compensation, analytics, and leadership development.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment regulations and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide initiatives and achieve measurable results.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
