Personal Injury Attorney
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Day Shift, Hybrid)
Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 Per Year
A Manhattan-based law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its team. The attorney will manage a caseload from intake through trial, representing plaintiffs in complex personal injury and medical malpractice matters. The ideal candidate will be a skilled litigator who can handle all aspects of the litigation process while providing compassionate, client-centered representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of personal injury and medical malpractice cases, from initial consultation through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions, including expert witness depositions.
- Represent clients in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and trials.
- Assess case strengths and weaknesses, developing effective strategies for success.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate vigorously on behalf of clients.
- Supervise and collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout their cases.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar (additional bar admissions are a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience litigating plaintiff-side personal injury and/or medical malpractice cases.
- Proven trial experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail.
- Compassionate, client-focused approach with excellent interpersonal communication.
