Langs is renowned for providing whole-of-house building materials—from timber and steel trusses to windows, doors and hardware. The Design Hub, based in Yatala, is the operational heart of the business. This team is the driving force behind estimating, detailing and production scheduling, guaranteeing seamless project execution for builders across Queensland and beyond.

Your Future Team

This is a career-defining opportunity to influence Langs’ ongoing success and impact the organisation’s operations at every level. Reporting directly to the Chief Manufacturing Officer, the Design Hub Manager will lead a diverse and talented team. This includes five direct managers who oversee teams of estimators, detailers and clerical staff across two Queensland locations and an offshore operation. Your mission is to drive operational excellence, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure that all team outputs meet Langs’ exacting standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide visionary leadership to the Design Hub, inspiring managers and their teams to excel in all aspects of estimating, detailing and scheduling.
• Streamline workflows and processes, leveraging innovative tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless integration of design, production and delivery.
• Build a positive, high-performance culture that encourages collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Maintain oversight of operations during high-pressure periods, ensuring deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven Leadership Excellence: Extensive experience managing large teams and complex operations, fostering a positive culture across both local and offshore teams.
• Technical Expertise: 10+ years in manufacturing or construction, ideally with a background in frame and truss estimating.
• Strategic Problem-Solving: A tech-savvy mindset with experience in process optimisation tools, including industry-specific software such as Mitek and FrameCad.
• Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to unite diverse teams and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals.
• Resilience and Organisation: Capable of managing competing priorities during peak workloads, maintaining a calm and organised approach.
