Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Oshkosh, WI (Hybrid — minimum three days onsite per week at the North Plant)

Pay Rate: $35–45/hour (based on experience)

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

Travel: Up to 1 week every 2–3 months within the U.S. (GSA per diem provided)

Interview Process: Initial phone screen → Onsite interview

About the Role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key contributor to the design and development of heavy-duty vehicle components and systems. This position focuses on delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to support both new vehicle programs and improvements to existing platforms. The role requires a hands-on, collaborative engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support mechanical design efforts, including calculations, modeling, testing, and documentation.
  • Develop and optimize vehicle components and systems to meet performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers to drive successful project execution.
  • Prepare detailed layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support production teams by troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues.
  • Prepare technical proposals, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation for research, analysis, and future reference.
  • Use analytical and mathematical methods to model system performance and optimize designs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for security and compliance purposes).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with automotive closures design.
  • Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency with advanced CAD software and engineering design tools.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers.
