Industrial Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing operations through process improvement, inventory analysis, production support, and operational optimization initiatives. This role will focus heavily on inventory accuracy, process audits, data analysis, storage optimization, and coordination with vendors to support manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience working within manufacturing environments, and the ability to support cross-functional operational improvement projects. This position requires strong Excel, CAD, and data analysis capabilities, along with the ability to review engineering concepts and collaborate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Improvement
- Assist with the design, improvement, and implementation of manufacturing and operational systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Operations Excellence principles and methodologies
- Identify operational inefficiencies and support implementation of corrective actions
- Assist with development and maintenance of standard work instructions and process documentation
- Support line balancing, workflow optimization, and manufacturing process improvements
- Assist with plant layout and workstation optimization initiatives
Inventory & Operational Analysis
- Review part numbers and conduct analysis related to inventory discrepancies and operational issues
- Audit inventory and storage processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Gather, analyze, and interpret operational and inventory data to support decision making
- Support PFEP (Plan for Every Part) documentation and ongoing updates
- Assist with rack parts audits and plant storage optimization initiatives
- Support storage identification processes and inventory organization improvements
Vendor Coordination & Engineering Support
- Coordinate with vendors from concept through production support activities
- Support EMF sequence cart design coordination efforts
- Review CAD models, engineering drawings, and design concepts to support manufacturing and operational initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing and logistics requirements are met
- Support make-versus-buy analysis activities when required
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize Excel and analytical tools to track trends, identify issues, and support operational improvements
- Support data-driven decision making through reporting and analysis
- Assist with development of manufacturing metrics and operational tracking tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Or related STEM field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing or industrial engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with:
- Excel
- CAD systems
- Data analysis tools and techniques
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, or operational improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting inventory management or storage optimization initiatives
- Experience working with vendors and manufacturing suppliers
- Familiarity with:
- PFEP processes
- Lean manufacturing principles
- Continuous improvement methodologies
- Ergonomics and workstation design
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and CAD models within manufacturing environments
