Safety Representative (Entry-Level)

Pay Rate: $40–45/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (local travel 1–2 times per month)

Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Safety Representative to provide workplace safety guidance, technical expertise, and regulatory support to site operations. This role supports site leadership in maintaining compliance with MIOSHA (Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements while fostering a culture of safety through education, coaching, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze safety data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to workplace safety practices.
  • Monitor compliance with MIOSHA standards and internal safety procedures.
  • Serve as the primary site resource for safety-related requirements and initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen workplace safety culture.
  • Deliver training and mentorship to employees on safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Global Workplace Safety, Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Ergonomics, and Health Services.
  • Support implementation of safety programs, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with or lead resolution of safety violations and citations.
  • Develop and track action plans to ensure timely completion of safety projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required (safety-related degree preferred).
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to safety challenges.
