Job Description – Warranty Parts Processor

Long Term Contract- with opportunity for potential direct hire

Pay $25-31/hr

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Summary

The Warranty Parts Processor is responsible for reviewing, handling, and processing warranty part claims in compliance with company policies and industry standards. This role involves receiving, storing, analyzing, tracking, reporting, and disposing of all warranty parts while ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process. The position serves as a key point of contact with dealers, suppliers, and internal teams to support warranty operations and deliver a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process warranty parts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely claim resolution.
  • Communicate with dealers regarding discrepancies during part inspection and take proactive corrective actions to support dealer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the procurement and charge-back of warranty parts claims, ensuring proper acceptance and implementation of claim adjustments.
  • Handle and store warranty parts for customers including Product Support, Quality Engineers, Suppliers, Manufacturing, and Emissions Laboratories.
  • Ensure proper disposal or scrapping of warranty parts following inspections or supervisor direction.
  • Adhere to regulations related to the handling and disposal of warranty parts classified as HAZMAT, ensuring compliance with hazardous waste management policies.

Education & Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or some college coursework; working knowledge of automotive aftersales processes or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: ASE Technician Certification; Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive service, parts, or warranty operations.
  • Background in warehousing and/or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of automotive warranty procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and parts catalog systems.
  • Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional email correspondence.
  • Ability to lift and move automotive parts up to 50 lbs.
