Type of Position:

Contract - Long Term (conversion to direct hire is likely over time). This role also has good potential for advancement / growth.


Job Location:

Nashville, TN (on site role) – near the Nashville International Airport


Compensation:

$23.00/hr. There may be occasional overtime in this role, and any OT is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

  • No PTO when on contract (but there would be significant PTO in going direct hire). Unpaid time off is permitted.


Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a global leader in designing, building, and integrating custom automation systems – from robotics and material-handling to full manufacturing and warehouse solutions – helping leading manufacturers streamline production and distribution worldwide. We're seeking to hire a Material and Logistics Coordinator for our Nashville, TN facility. This role plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate material handling throughout our facility. This position supports receiving, material flow, shipping coordination, documentation accuracy, and collaboration across departments including Purchasing, Engineering, Build Teams, and Supply Chain. The Material and Logistics Coordinator will be a critical on-site resource who supports project timelines and overall operational performance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shipping and Receiving

  • Always perform daily tasks safely and follow all company safety standards.
  • Validate all incoming shipments to ensure supplier paperwork matches physical materials and company purchase orders.
  • Resolve discrepancies in partnership with the Purchasing team.
  • Verify that quantities received match company and supplier documentation such as purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Engage the Build Team and Engineers as needed for Quality Control review of incoming shipments.
  • Perform material check-in processes to confirm delivery to build teams.
  • Load and unload all types of machinery and equipment from trucks and trailers used by the company, customers, and suppliers.

Shipping Coordination

  • Schedule all order pickups and deliveries including LTL freight and small parcel shipments (FedEx, UPS, DHL).
  • Adhere to all client shipping guidelines, routing requirements, and packaging standards.
  • Communicate shipment exceptions, delays, tracking updates, insurance information, and claim details proactively.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and carriers to implement best practices that promote continuous material flow.

Material Flow and Inventory Support

  • Deliver materials to job shelves throughout the building to support project teams.
  • Stage skids and bulk materials according to line-side and point-of-use stocking programs.
  • Support the Build Team in developing and organizing material and storage areas throughout the facility.
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to log and track returns.

Documentation and Administrative Duties

  • Ensure all purchasing, receiving, and accounting documents are routed correctly, filed neatly, and maintained accurately.
  • Process problem invoices using the Enlighten platform.
  • Maintain strong relationships with coworkers, management, supply chain partners, carriers, and vendors.
  • Represent a professional presence on site across all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma OR GED is required at a minimum (higher level education is welcome).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in logistics, material management, or supply chain preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and the proven capacity to follow direction and work independently when needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Candidates are required to have some experience operating forklifts.
  • Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo (forklift) license and Overhead Crane license (we will provide training).


Work Environment / Other Info:

  • 1st (day) shift role.
  • This role will be a minimum of 40 hours per week, but there will be occasional overtime. Candidates must be flexible to work OT as required. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
  • Offer may be contingent on a background check and a drug screening. Drug screen would include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).
