Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Pay: $22-24/hour

Long term contract to hire


About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will work independently and as part of a team to support the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial equipment for major automotive customers, including projects with General Motors and Ford. You’ll participate in medium-complexity projects, deliver high-quality work, and play a key role in our installation and build processes.


Key Responsibilities

-     Work independently with minimal supervision on assigned electrical tasks and projects.

-     Support the Electrical Supervisor in the disassembly, shipping, and installation of equipment at customer facilities.

-     Maintain open communication with the Electrical Supervisor regarding project requirements, issues, and updates.

-     Debug tooling using electrical meters; troubleshoot and debug hardwired circuits.

-     Read and interpret electrical diagrams, layout drawings, and control drawings.

-     Maintain and update electrical bill of materials (E-BOM) and project timelines.

-     Order and follow up on materials required for job completion.

-     Ensure adherence to customer specifications, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

-     Travel to customer sites, including possible short-term assignments in Lansing, Wayne, or Kentucky.

-     Lay out and install electrical equipment (panels, weld controllers, panel views, etc.) around equipment systems.

-     Adhere to the company’s quality system and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

-     Maintain a clean and safe work area; bring and use your own tools and PPE.

-     Attend and participate in team meetings as required.

-     Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.

Required Skills & Experience

-     Minimum one-year certificate from college or technical school, or

-     5 years of related electrician experience/training, or

-     Equivalent combination of education and experience.

-     Well-versed in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, technical documents, and project instructions.

-     Experience working with cable trays, cell-level cable runs, and sub-assembly tool builds (GM and Ford experience preferred).

-     Skilled with math concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, geometry, and trigonometry.

-     Able to communicate clearly in written reports and verbally with teams and clients.

-     Able to lift up to 10 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 25 lbs.

-     Comfortable working in an industrial environment around moving machinery and electrical systems.

-     Willingness to travel for short installation projects (please indicate availability for Lansing, Wayne, or Kentucky assignments).
