Inventory Analyst - No C2C
Location: Wixom, MI
Pay Rate: $26-30/hour
Job Type: Long-term contract with full benefits package
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Analyst to support inventory accuracy, planning, and optimization within a fast-paced robotics manufacturing environment. In this role, you will analyze inventory trends, improve forecasting, and collaborate with purchasing, production, logistics, and service teams to ensure materials and spare parts are available when needed while minimizing inventory costs.
Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Analysis
- Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and demand forecasts for robotics components, spare parts, and consumables.
- Develop and maintain inventory planning models that balance service levels with inventory carrying costs.
- Identify slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and recommend corrective actions.
- Support safety stock calculations and reorder point optimization.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using ERP/MRP systems and business intelligence tools.
- Track key inventory metrics including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, fill rates, service levels, carrying costs, and obsolescence.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, stockouts, and root causes, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Present inventory analysis and performance updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Purchasing to align procurement activities with forecasted demand.
- Work closely with Production Planning to ensure material availability for manufacturing schedules.
- Support Service and Aftermarket teams by maintaining spare parts readiness.
- Collaborate with Finance on inventory valuation, cycle count results, and reporting.
Process Improvement
- Lead or assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall supply chain performance.
- Support ERP/MRP system enhancements and maintain data integrity.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in inventory analysis, materials planning, or supply chain.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting robotics, automation, industrial equipment, or manufacturing operations.
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or working toward certification.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
