Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations and leads hourly employees to achieve business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, responsiveness, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, counseling, and support to hourly employees as needed
  • Address performance by reinforcing positive behaviors and correcting negative ones
  • Utilize the Quality Network problem-solving process to identify improvement opportunities and engage employees in solutions
  • Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) processes to improve layout, workflow, and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate payroll data through daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates
  • Document problem-solving activities using the A-3 reporting format in accordance with local guidelines
  • Conduct daily team meetings to communicate business performance and facilitate two-way communication
  • Perform and document weekly safety observation tours within assigned departments
  • Plan and assign daily workloads in advance to meet operational targets
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership to optimize shift performance
  • Ensure compliance with national and local contractual requirements
  • Enforce workplace policies and shop rules
  • Conduct daily Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audit checks
  • Participate in ongoing development through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process
  • Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee informed of pending activities and issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing or warehouse processes and procedures
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant operational technologies and systems
  • Understanding of scheduling tools and management systems
  • Analytical ability to resolve moderately complex operational problems
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to motivate teams and drive performance
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of technical or business school training preferred
  • Skilled trades training or equivalent technical background preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required
