Test Technician (3 Openings – Multiple Focus Areas)

Location: Gulf Breeze

Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00/hr

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are hiring three Test Technicians to support multiple areas of our manufacturing and service operations. These positions are responsible for ensuring product quality, functionality, and reliability through testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair activities. Each opening supports a unique focus area while sharing common technical and quality responsibilities.

Open Positions

Test Technician I – Circuit Board Test & Troubleshooting

This role focuses on testing and diagnosing electronic circuit boards to the component level.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of circuit boards
  • Diagnose failures to component level and recommend repairs
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
  • Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related test equipment
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of electronics test or troubleshooting experience
  • Component-level troubleshooting ability
  • IPC-A-610 Class 3 and/or J-STD soldering certification (or willingness to obtain)

Test Technician II – Optics Assembly & Test

This role supports precision assembly, inspection, and testing of optical products and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble optical components using detailed work instructions
  • Perform testing and inspection of finished assemblies
  • Verify quality, alignment, and workmanship standards
  • Record test results and maintain production documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Prior assembly, manufacturing, or electronics experience preferred

Test Technician III – Repairs & Service (RMA)

This role handles testing, troubleshooting, and repair of customer-returned units.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and test returned products
  • Diagnose failures and complete repairs
  • Document findings, repairs, and corrective actions
  • Support turnaround time and service quality goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Repair or troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Aerospace or electronics background is a plus

Core Responsibilities (All Roles)

  • Perform testing and inspections according to procedures and quality standards
  • Set up, operate, and calibrate test equipment
  • Record test data, observations, and results accurately
  • Identify defects, malfunctions, or non-conforming conditions
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas
  • Follow all safety and company policies
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical certification or Associate degree preferred
  • Experience in testing, assembly, troubleshooting, repair, or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and common test equipment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
