Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and process-oriented IT Application Patch Technician to oversee patching activities for Windows-based applications. This position focuses on carrying out routine patch management tasks, ensuring compliance with established processes, and conducting basic troubleshooting of both hardware and software issues. This role does not require application development; instead, it is well-suited for individuals with a foundational understanding of IT systems who are detail-focused and reliable. The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree and be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply routine patches and updates to Windows-based applications following prescribed processes and schedules.
- Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting to ensure successful patch application.
- Verify patch installations and document outcomes according to company procedures.
- Escalate any complex application or system issues to higher-level IT staff as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to support the overall health and security of IT systems.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of all patching activities.
- Adhere to organizational policies and best practices for change management.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of the Windows operating system and Windows-based applications.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain compliance with IT processes.
- Strong basic troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (four-year degree) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Prior experience in an IT support, technician, or similar role is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with patch management tools and processes is a plus.
