Supply Chain Group Leader – Bowling Green, KY (42101)

Contract: 6 months, with strong likelihood of extension or direct hire

Schedule: Rotating Shifts

  • 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Compensation: $42–44/hour, with PTO and optional benefits


Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Group Leader to oversee a team of 30+ hourly UAW employees supporting material flow and logistics for the Automotive production line. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong experience in manufacturing and warehouse operations, capable of guiding and motivating teams while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety in a unionized environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of 30+ hourly employees involved in material handling and logistics
  • Manage the flow of material from receiving docks to assembly lines in a just-in-time (JIT) environment
  • Conduct performance management, timekeeping, and resource planning to ensure daily targets are met
  • Train and coach team members using standardized methods and GMS (Global Manufacturing System) principles
  • Ensure compliance with National and Local UAW labor agreements
  • Promote a culture of safety and maintain ergonomics, health, and housekeeping standards
  • Resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
  • Support launch and pilot build activities through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production schedules and quality goals
  • Participate in shutdown periods and pursue potential conversion opportunities based on performance and business needs



Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or logistics
  • Proven experience supervising hourly production or logistics employees in a unionized environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms
  • Strong communication and team-building skills, with the ability to lead in a fast-paced, hands-on environment



Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in high-demand automotive manufacturing environments
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices
  • Familiarity with material flow operations and supply chain synchronization in a JIT production system
