Position Overview

The Business Development Leader is responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives, expanding market presence, and developing new business opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region. This role leads complex capture efforts, builds key partnerships, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve business and financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of business development activities to achieve revenue, growth, and profitability targets
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic business opportunities, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures
  • Expand and optimize regional distribution and channel strategies across the Asia-Pacific market
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer needs assessments to identify new opportunities
  • Lead and influence the development of proposals, business plans, work statements, and financial terms
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute short- and long-term business objectives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business development activities within the region
  • Lead progress reviews and communicate cost, schedule, and technical performance to stakeholders
  • Identify business challenges and implement solutions, including resource allocation and contract adjustments
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support new product development, program positioning, and proposal responses
  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams to support business growth
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Act as a subject matter expert for regional markets and customer engagement


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of business development experience
  • Demonstrated experience within Asia-Pacific defense and/or emergency support markets
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex capture efforts, including international or in-country content requirements
  • Demonstrated success leading captures exceeding $50M USD

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Proficiency with standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP)
  • Experience in project and program management


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Prior military experience


Location & Travel

  • Remote role with preference for candidates located in Singapore, Japan, or Australia
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the Asia-Pacific region as needed
