Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer – Embedded Controls

Direct Hire | Onsite (1st Shift)

Location: Franklin, OH

Salary: $130,000–$170,000


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer with strong embedded controls experience to support the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of digital and analog circuits, aircraft power generation systems, and power test equipment. This role offers technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and end-to-end product ownership.

  • Designs and manufactures GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms in partnership with defense prime contractors and government program offices
  • Supplies ground support equipment, parts, and services to airlines, MROs, government agencies, and aviation end users worldwide


What You’ll Do

  • Lead electrical design across the full product lifecycle: concept, design, development, testing, and product support
  • Design and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits, embedded software, and electromechanical interfaces
  • Provide technical direction for controls on existing and future products
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate designs against specifications
  • Perform hands-on hardware testing with embedded firmware using JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and similar tools
  • Conduct verification, validation, and qualification testing with attention to power quality, system interfaces, and environmental conditions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and performance anomalies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Prepare engineering documentation, reports, and test results
  • Support manufacturing by designing or modifying electrical build and assembly processes
  • Monitor subcontracted technical services as needed
  • Provide product support by isolating faults and resolving design issues
  • Perform additional duties and cross-training as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 5–10+ years of experience in electrical product design, development, and power generation systems
  • Experience with embedded software and DSPs for power converter control
  • Hands-on testing experience with embedded hardware and firmware
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor team members
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel 10–15%



Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Microchip and Texas Instruments microcontrollers
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience with AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power converter control
  • Experience creating schematics and PCB layouts
  • Knowledge of PC-based test set software development
